Sacral Chakra Yin Yoga Sequence

Svadhisthana is our second energy centre located below the navel centre and above the pubic bone. This centre is connected to our reproductive glands and the element of water, or apas.

The sanskrit name svadhisthana translates to mean "the dwelling place of the self." This is the inner temple where we come home to ourselves, and evolve our understanding of our authentic nature.

The evolutionary energy of the sacral chakra informs our emotional intelligence, and teaches us to master our emotions and harness our creative energies. Here, we become conscious creators.

Unprocessed emotions like guilt or shame can affect our ability to embrace joy or ease as an expression in our body, emotions or sexual energies. This can lead to rigid holding patterns.

This yin yoga practice creates a safe space to reconnect with our dwelling place, and shine a light on the emotions that are present in the body and mind.

The spiritual wisdom of svadhisthana guides us to become fluid like water, and to integrate the essence of apas into our nature.
